Jinan Railway Vehicles Equipment Co., Ltd. (JRVEC) is a subsidiary company of China CNR Corporation Limited. The original name of JRVEC is Jinan Locomotive and Rolling Stock Plant which was established in 1910. We were renamed to JRVEC on July 9th, 2007.

JRVEC is located in the downtown of Jinan, the capital city of Shandong Province. Jinan is also known as the Spring City, the political, economic and cultural centre of Shandong province. With Tai Shan (Mt. Tai) in the south and the Yellow River in the north, Jinan is located at the crossroad of Beijing-Shanghai Railway and Qingdao-Jinan Railway. There are highways in and out of Jinan from all directions. Jinan also has an International Airport handling both international and domestic travel. Jinan has modern and international standard communication systems.

Jinan Railway Vehicles Equipment Co., Ltd. (formerly Jinan Locomotive and Rolling Stock Plant) was established in 1910 and our main jobs were to repair steam locomotives and to design and manufacture diesel locomotives. In 1993, our company expanded our business to design and manufacture freight wagons with the investment funds from Chinese Ministry of Railway.

JRVEC is now one of the major manufacturers in China that manufactures railway freight wagons. Our company has developed and manufactured different types of freight wagons including 60-ton and 70-ton open-top wagons, tank wagons, flat wagons, and hopper wagons. Our company has invested heavily in manufacturing processes and introducing many overseas manufacturing techniques to our manufacturing facilities and quality control systems. Our company is one of the few manufacturers in China which have been recognized for building superior 70-ton heavy-load freight wagons. Our company produces over 7,000 open-top wagons, flat wagons, tank wagons, hopper wagons and special vehicles per year.

In the early of 2000, our company further expanded manufacturing facilities and diversified products. New manufacturing facilities were built and overseas innovative and advanced technology was introduced. The new products cover:

(i) Modern and innovative toilet systems for commuter trains and portable toilets. JRVEC has obtained China patents for toilet systems.
(ii) Miscellaneous products, including:
Intelligent Combination Electric Tightening Machines
Desulfurization Dust Control Units for Coal Burning Boilers
Sewage Treatment Floatation Devices
(iii) Large steel structures, including:
Steel support structures (cylinder shape) for wind-power generation towers
Oil tanks for large electrical transformers

Steel pedestrian overpasses

Steel communication/broadcasting towers

For the manufacturing of large steel structures such as the support structures of wind turbines and communication towers, JRVEC has built a modern manufacturing facility in Jinan, China, covering an area of 30,000sqm. JRVEC also equipped the manufacturing facility with modern machinery such as CLOOS Welding Robots (6 units) made in Germany, CNC Machining Centres, CNC Gantry Milling Machines and Laser Cutting Machines and Plasma Cutting Machines made in Switzerland.
